Scraping (Gua Sha)

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese therapy that uses a smooth tool (typically jade, copper, wood, or ceramic) to scrape the skin. This technique stimulates blood circulation, releases muscle tension, and promotes the flow of Qi.

During a Gua Sha treatment, the practitioner applies oil to the skin and scrapes specific areas of the body with the tool. Mild bruising, known as “Sha,” often appears, indicating the release of toxins from the body. Gua Sha is commonly used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve overall health.

When performed by a qualified TCM practitioner, Gua Sha is generally safe with minimal side effects. It can also help alleviate colds, headaches, and muscle soreness, leaving many patients feeling relaxed and revitalized after treatment.
